Call me Master Adam

And it continues - in a good way. Adam & Grace are a very dramatic couple and on of the best ones I’ve read in a long time. I love the way their story is developing and growing. Every ending gets you closer to the edge leaving you wondering when am I going over?

When I first started I wondering if the endgame was going to include more than just the coming together of two very stubborn people. But now as I have read three stories I have come to realize that there is SO much more to them. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Ok, now about this book. Grace & Adam are trying to get past Grace's escape attempt and what happened on the beach. Adam is busy not only with his prisoner, but with family members who are trying to hurt him. But did you really think he would be able to be the head of one of the most powerful families in the world and not have people be jealous of him.

This book book has power challenges & old world sword fights along with modern day erotica. In this book FINALLY Master Adam is revealed and IT'S ABOUT TIME!!

Stellar third act.

Josie Litton continues with her wonderful story-telling with Chosen.
Grace and Adam are at a crossroads at this point. With what happened in the second part of this story, they are both wracked with emotions that counter act with the good and bad in their situation. The wall this builds between them is frustrating to see as the story progresses because you, the reader, can see the overall picture!
I love Josie's way of storytelling. In this third part, she expands on the world she's built, and introduces us to new characters. She provides an introductory of sorts to these individuals and makes you question what part they will play as the story continues to unfold.
I am looking forward to the build up now; the story is starting to reach a cliff where you don't know how everything will fall together, but, I trust Josie in putting it all together wonderfully.

I received this book in exchange for my honest review. yes Adam still has her held as a hostage but wont tell her why she is there all he says its about "family". They do feel something for each other and its strong but Grace was trying to get him to release her. Whenever they were together he would make a comment about she is undoing him. She was falling for him. The Cliffhanger on this one is she is trying to leave after she thought he passed out and that is where it leaves off

A high value product

I received this book over a month ago. I have purchased several books from this author and have never been disappointed. I have been playing guitar for over 50 years. I'm 65 and thought that I was pretty much unable to learn any new techniques or styles. I am a hardcore blues and classic rock player. This book, like the others I own by this author has allowed me to grow musically and has helped me push past the concept of "old hands, slow hands" My speed and technique has improved dramatically and all the skills in this book are well taught, easy to understand and digest. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to be the best player they can be, regardless of how young or experienced they may be.

Another awesome book by Joseph Alexander

I have to say this author is a genius! His exercises actually yield results fast. This book if used properly can give you results you see and feel. It makes a big difference in your technique and picking in about three days. No joke if your serious with his exercises and stick with them, they do make you improve. I do not know what theory he uses to create these books, but I own his entire set of publications they are clearly written, concise and are not bogged down with terminology which is a plus. Someone that has no formal guitar training can pick up this book and clearly understand the teaching point his demonstrates in the book.

Possibly the best book for developing "economy picking." I'm *NOT* an economy picker (I'm more of a "whatever" picker) - but the book is about so much more. Right hand, left hand, coordination between the two - a lot of great stuff here and definitely worth the price. Work through ten page chunks, 3 weeks to a chunk, and by the end of the book (you can start over!) - you'll be a far better player, no way around it. Get yourself a copy!

A book that applies the learn-by-example method

This book is of great value, it is one of the best calculus book I have ever encountered. Mr. Leithold really explains the lessons step-by-step by truly applying the "learn by example"method in teaching. Many examples are given ranging from simple to complicated ones. It will really guide the student in developing his calculus skills. Another thing more, the author uses very plain language in explaining the topics in the book. This helps giving students some motivation in a subject that is traditionally looked as a very difficult one. Coverage on the theoretical and applied aspects of calculus are kept into balance by presenting proofs into both simple and complex theorems while simultaneously providing sample problems dealing with real-life applications that gives an idea to students the practical side of what they are learning. Loads of problems to solve are present that will also aid the student to develop and practise. In addition, the book provides a good guide in learning calculus in conjunction with a graphics calculator. Numerous examples are provided guiding the learner in the use of the graphics calculator in a certain calculus topic.

Excellent Text

As one of many people who were daunted by math texts that were poorly written, confusing, stuffed with pictures and meaningless examples, and plagued with mistakes and wrong answers in the back, I say "Thanks" to Louis Leithold for writing well crafted, well ordered, relevant, and challenging yet comprehensible math texts. Even though I was able to get good grades in all my math classes, there were many times when I simply didn't understand why the things I was doing worked. I knew the techniques, but I had no understanding of the math behind them. The texts that Leithold wrote -- all of them -- opened my eyes to the why as well as the how, and made me a much better mathematician than I was before. If you want to know math, or have kids who are stymied by the awful texts they a forced to cope with today, get Leithold's math texts. They are excellent, relevant, and if they are not on Amazon, can still be found with just a bit of looking and usually for a good price.

I have all the well written textbooks for the Calculus I, II, and III sequence. This includes Michael Sullivan, Thomas & Finney,
James Stewart, Larson & Edwards, Tom Apostol, and both volumes of Courant. These are well written at the right level of rigor for their target audience. They are all part of permanent reference library.

However, the standout text in my collection is "The Calculus 7" by Louis Leithold and I am fortunate enough to have the instruct-
ors solutions manual. Leithold has written the best standard text at this level period. The only caveat is that this is not a text for
unmotivated students who are not well prepared in Precalculus or not highly motivated. It is not written for the average student or
Liberal Arts major (not a disparagement, just a fact).

Leithold, does not take prisoners - his approach is simple and unapologetic. He presents very clear explanations, great illus-
trations, and fully worked out examples of every topic in the book. It must also be said that his book is the best one written for
those going on to DE's, Linear Algebra, and Analysis.

I could go on complimenting this text, but you get my point. If you are highly motivated and have mathematical ability then you
should have a copy of this book. Compare any topic in this book to the same topic in any other text and you will see what i mean.

Translations of Santeria songs & lots more - very impressive

This is a huge, impressive book that provides a wealth of knowledge most of which you can't find in print in English anywhere else. It has background on Yoruba religion and Santeria, bata drumming in Cuba and America, and translations of many many songs. Also photos, etc. Some people will argue with some of the translations, but nobody can say this book doesn't add enormously to what's published in English on what has been an esoteric & oral tradition.

To anyone that practices within the Ifa'Orisa community, this book is a jewel. It is not often that one stumbles upon a book rich with knowledge & standing strong in it's research & presentation. Mr. Mason has taken his years of practice & translated these beautiful songs to call the Orisa. I can only say that this is probably one of the BEST books I have ever seen on the Orisa tradition! Mr. Mason is to be thanked time & time again for his amazing contribution of this community! ASE!

In the first, "Foundations," Dahlen and Tromp give an extensive introduction to continuum mechanics and discuss the representation of seismic sources and the free oscillations of a completely general Earth model. The resulting theory should provide the basis for future scientific discussions of the elastic-gravitational deformation of the Earth. The second part, "The Spherical Earth," is devoted to the free oscillations of a spherically symmetric Earth. In the third part, "The Aspherical Earth," the authors discuss methods of dealing with the Earth's three-dimensional heterogeneity. The book is concerned primarily with the forward problem of global seismology--detailing how synthetic seismograms and spectra may be calculated and interpreted.

Not an easy book but a very good one

This is a good book. It definitely fills a gap in the literature in the sense that it is unique in combining the rigorous continuum mechanics with the free modes of the earth (or terrestrial planets in general). It also connects the low-frequency oscillations (normal modes) to the seismological observables. The only problem is that you need to have studied a considerable amount of classical continuum mechanics and elastic wave propagation to reach the stage and this can not be expected from everyone. For a student who just studied intro to continuum mechanics and knows what the spherical harmonics are, this book can serve to relate all this stuff to the real world. Have a nice time reading the book.

A thick tome that is a little hard to swallow for begining students

In my on going quest to collect any and all books on seismology (earthquake and theoretical) I found a good deal (price) on this book and went ahead and bought it. I did not need it for any classes etcetera, but I wanted it as a reference maybe. I ordered it sight-unseen. When I got it I was somewhat dismayed. It is very rigorous in its mathematical treatment of the subject (newbies be forewarned!) and the equations are somewhat cluttered. I don't know why, but I have noticed a trend in that the more advanced textbooks get, the smaller they get! The pages in this book are 5.5" X 9.0" If the pages were bigger, it wouldn't have to be as thick and might make for a cleaner layout. It is a very advanced theoretical book and so I haven't used it much. My only other gripe is somwhat selfish. I learned from other seismology books first and most of the equations in this one are hard to follow because of the use of different symols for variables and indicies. I wish there was some continuity in the seismological community on this matter. The authors are no doubt "giants" in their field, therefore I am sure this book is a valuable asset to researchers. If you are new to the subject and/or curious and this book is NOT required in a class, I would look elsewhere.

I am an important professor at some university, and I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used to think geology was a waste of time, but now I don't think so anymore. Because I read this book. This REALLY GOOD book. It's about the free oscillations of the Earth. If you don't know what that means, the earth freely oscillates, and that's what this book is about. These (free) oscillations are related to earthquakes. Well, I don't want to say too much because I'm afraid of spoiling the end of this classic book on free oscillations. But it's about earthquakes and it is SO good. So don't delay, do what I say, and buy this book right away today, okay?

Prompted by public outcries and by the confusion and uncertainty surrounding risk management policy, social scientists have begun to address themselves to the issue of risk perception. But as anthropologist Mary Douglas points out, they have been singularly reluctant to examine the cultural bases of risk perception, preferring to concentrate on the individual perceiver making individual choices. This approach leaves unexamined a number of crucial social factors—our concepts of what is “natural” or “artificial,” for example; our beliefs about fairness, and our moral judgements about the kind of society in which we want to live.

This provocative and path-breaking report seeks to open a sociological approach to risk perception that has so far been systematically neglected. Describing first some exceptions to the general neglect of culture, Douglas builds on these clues and on her own broad anthropological perspective to make a compelling case for focusing on social factors in risk perception. She offers a challenge and a promising new agenda to all who study perceptions of risk and, by extension, to those who study human cognition and choice as well.
