The Passion Bible

Proverbs Passion Bible....I enjoy reading this as a daily devotional reading. The way it is written is different than any other other translation I have read and I have them all. This is not a study bible. It is a devotional Bible. It can help you receive a better understanding and a deeper personal meaning of the scriptures. It is not a Bible that you would take to, Bible college, or a theology class or seminary. It was not written for that purpose. It was written for comfort. Kinda like going to your mom or dad for a hug. I am a 60 year man and I still need a hug sometimes.

read the Word like this and I am an avid reader

Goodness gracious...I have never ever , ever, read the Word like this and I am an avid reader. It's almost like Brian Simmons has taken the Word and poured it into a cup so you can drink it straight and I've only read the first five or six chapters of this book. I'm anxious to read more....but I am doing my best to pace myself. The way he has translated the bible makes me want to sit down and read it to my kids simply because I know...now there are no excuses. This thing is plain and you don't have to be confused.

I felt impressed to listen to the entire book of the Passion Translation of Proverbs--Wisdom From Above at one setting this morning! I wanted to share my observations of the experience. First of all it was very pleasant and not taxing. Not really more pressing than enjoying a long movie at one setting, yet so much more rewarding. It reminded me of the the old head cleaners we used to insert into our cassette players to clean our dirty heads. It was amazing to keep focus on these gems of wisdom to clean and renew my mind. Such large amounts of concentrated wisdom in one feeding wasn't overwhelming. The way that God has worked with you to weave the verses together was like a tapestry of blessing and a toolbox of practical scriptural tools. It helped me bring the broad to narrow in focus and these gems of wisdom into remembrance! Brian, thank you for undertaking this very important task. It is a precious treasure to the body of Christ! I look forward to repeating this again and also with the other books of scripture that you read audibly like this one! Thank you! Bob
