Great contribution about writing practices

I found this book truly inspiring. It is clearly written, and Barber organically and neatly integrates theories about language and writing. This integration makes the book very helpful for those studying writing practices (the big word here being entextualization). Barber's ethnographic background is in the study of texts from Africa, yet the book's contribution extend well over the continent, and I find it very helpful in my own work and writing about language, ideology and practices associated with writing. I highly recommend it!

Ace Justice

This is the second book in the Journey series and while it can stand on its own I think reading them in order is more fun. Gabby and the reader have had a taste of Ace justice in the first book of the series and Gabby is surprised he'd even bother to look her up. They both start to have strong feelings but Gabby is unsure of herself and sure doesn't want to be the first to say anything plus she doesn't see how this can go anywhere. When Gabby makes a poor choice, Ace seems to give up and walk away because he feels she doesn't trust him enough to help her out. But he's pretty stubborn and poor Gabby doesn't stand much of chance.

This is the second installment for the Journey family and Ace finally finds the girl he wants but it deems as if nothing is going right for them. Just when it seems that they will never make it as a couple a unlikely matchmaker gets them back on the right tract and all is good. This series just seems to get better with each installment.

Another amazingly sexy read from Patricia Green. I love the idea that Ace had punished Gabriella before they ever started a relationship. She had been a bad girl and chose punishment over losing her career. The novel has a sexy beginning and the book just getting hotter and hotter as you turn the pages.

Always Use Caution

As the author implies, "Always Use Caution" AND always check with your doctor if you have any health concerns.

This book is written in a layout of historical background and folklore. There are many uses for hydrogen peroxide shared here and most are recommended with low grade level H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide). The many uses (not all included in this book) depend on the strength and what you mix it with (i.e. dye in glow sticks, to make peroxide blonde hair, grout cleaner, AND yes as a tooth cleaning agent, etc.) but caution is advised!

That being said, my take is if it can be used as a main ingredient in explosive devices (higher strength), I'm not sure I want it (even lower strength) IN my body, but perhaps as a cleaning agent in the house.

Note, 35% hydrogen peroxide is used to prevent infection transmission in hospital environment, and hydrogen peroxide vapor is registered with the US EPA as a sporicidal sterilant.

Quick research indicates the following grades apply (not necessarily recommended by author Thacker, just FYI):

Grades of Hydrogen Peroxide
3% Hydrogen Peroxide (Drug Store / Grocery Store Variety)
Made from Diluted 50% Super D Peroxide.
Contains stabilizers: phenol, acetanilide, sodium stanate, tetrasodium phosphate, etc.

6% Hydrogen Peroxide (Used by Beauticians in Hair Coloring)
Comes in strengths labeled 10, 20 and 40 volume. Activator added to use as a bleach. Unknown Stabilizers.

30% Re-Agent Hydrogen Peroxide
Used in medical research. Contains stabilizers.

30-32% Electronic Grade Hydrogen Peroxide
Used for washing transistors and integrated chip parts before assembly. Unknown Stabilizers.

35% (also 10%) Technical Grade Hydrogen Peroxide
Contains a small amount of phosphorus to neutralize any chlorine in the water it is combined with.

35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide / 50% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide
Used in food products like cheese, eggs, whey products.
Also used to spray inside of foil lined containers for food storage (antiseptic packaging system).

You can find food grade hydrogen peroxide in 3%, 6%, 7%, 12%, 17%, 35%, 40% or 50% solutions.

Consumption of any concentration of hydrogen peroxide above 10% can cause neurological damage.

Was Disappointed!

I was very disappointed with this book. It tells you a few household uses for peroxide that can be purchased by everyone, but the health benefits that is raved about in the advertisement is only for prescription peroxide and of course that means visits to physicians and costly testing. Wished I had saved my money--do yourself a favor and save YOURS!

Damaging Misinformation!

Warning to anyone who might follow instructions to use hydrogen peroxide orally. Oral use, even in a diluted strength, can cause mucosal membrane abnormalities in the lining of the mouth. My father had been encouraged by a dentist to rinse with hydrogen peroxide which he did for many years. Unfortunately because of that he had to live out his last days in absolute misery, unable to eat or even drink water. The entire mucus lining of his mouth had been destroyed by this practice, making it painful even to swallow. Don't take my word for this; research it on the internet before taking this irresponsible advice.
